I always appreciate teams sharing case studies of unique ways of working that fit their organizational culture, domain, and expertise. “Spotify Model” is a great system for Swedish music streaming service, similarly to by-the-book “Certified Scrum” as a great framework to reduce uncertainty in many, but not all, product development organizations.

Inspiration can come from different areas, and it is always useful to recall that there are many project management methods, from Kanban, WBS, or Prince2. Without a specific context, they are just abstract and theoretical formulas that can be applied in helpful or inefficient ways.

Developing a music streaming service is not very related to sustaining enterprise software integrations or managing KCS knowledge base workflow. Enterprise business apps can be in vastly different product lifecycle stages, from early concepts through sustaining apps that lost funding or depreciating integrations that pose a security risk. Not all software development is focused on consumer market share and growth.

I found some great inspiration in the Doist DO system, which answers the dilemma between a fully staffed permanent team and implementing software within discrete projects, often presented by consultants as “anti-agile”.
